Mystery Bible verse

By May 12, 2022June 8th, 2022No Comments

The mystery verse is 1 Peter 2:24. It’s about Jesus, “who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness–whose stripes you were healed.”

What to notice: 1. Having died to sins, is past tense. 2. Among other things, this is about what Jesus went to the cross for. 3. Christians, having died to sins, we can live for righteousness. 4. Wounds from the past cannot stop us from living for righteousness. 5. Now look around and notice that there are Christians in this world who struggle with some specific known sin or addiction. The mystery is why?

Only the Holy Spirit can make us able to successfully be dead to sins and live for righteousness. Jesus did everything that He could do. There must be something God needs from us. The question is: What does God need from us? I’ll give my answer next month, and it will be from the Bible. In the meantime, you can leave your answer as a comment.
